The Greek Olympics, which are thought to have started around 776 B.C. The games were held in honor of Zeus, king of all gods. The games would take part every four years. People from all over world would come to watch and take part in the games. Some games that they would have were discus, javelin, running, wrestling and chariot racing. |
ClothingGreek men mostly wore a tunic that was made up of wool and linen, which was tied with a belt around the waist. Over the tunic the men wore a wool cloak if it was cold out side. Their legs were bare and they wore leather sandals if they were not bare foot. The Geek women usually wore one large peace of garment and they made sure it was secure with pins in different locations.

JobsIn Greece there were many different jobs like actors, artists, doctors, dancers, and a farmers. An actor memorized lines and performed drama in theaters. Artists drew pictures. Doctors would heal people by surgery or medicine. Dancers would dance to entertain people. Farming was a very important job as soil in Greece was not rich or easy to cultivate.

MusicIn Greece, it was foretold that music could heal the weak and the sick. Music was an itegral role in the lives of ancient Greeks. One of the instruments that the Greeks played on was called the lyre. The lyre looked like a horse shoe with multiple strings.
