In Greek mythology Mt. Olympus was the meeting place for the Olympian gods. It was created by the Titanomachy, the battle during witch the Olympians defeated their enemy the Titans. In Mt. Olympus there was a place where the throne of Zeus was located as well as the other twelve Olympians such as Poseidon, Hera, Ares, Apollo, and many more.

Greek Gods and Goddess There were many gods such as Zeus, Hera, Poseidon, Ares, Apollo and Aphrodite. All of the gods had a purpose and were over a something in the human world. For instance Poseidon was the Lord of the Sea, Zeus was king of all god, Hera was the queen of all gods and Hades was the god of the Underworld.

Greek FuneralsThe Greeks believed that the spirit of the dead would leave the body as a little breath or a puff of wind. The dead was then prepared for burial. After being washed with oil, the body was dressed and placed on a high bed within the house. To make sure that the spirit stayed with the body they would throw dirt on top of the body. They would also place a gold coin under the tounge for passage into the Underworld.

Mythological CreaturesIn Greece they believed in many creatures such as a Cyclops, Chimera, Minotaur and Medusa. A Cyclops is a member of a race of savage one -eyed giants. The Chimera was a fire breathing hybrid of Lycaia in Asia Minor. The Minotaur was a creature with the head of a bull and the body of a man. Medusa was a winged human female with a hideous face and with living venomous snakes for hair.
